Law on climate change in Poland


Pursuant to the Polish Energy Law, Polish enterprises carrying out transmission and distribution activity with respect to natural gas or energy are under the obligation to establish development plan encompassing the territorial area of the enterprise's activity and relating to the satisfaying present and future needs for gas or energy (heat including).




Furthermore, the above-mentioned energy companies must comply with the requirement to submit, till 31 March of each year, to the Polish Energy Regulatory Authority (URE) the annual statement regarding the realisation of the said plans.


The non-compliance with the said requirement is subject to the pecuniary penalty. The said arrangements must be consistent with local (municipal and regional) infrastructure development plans.
